a bit more about me...
( want a more formal intro? here's my resume. )
hi, it's abbie again (aka abbie doo, abbie doozal... & doozal bug).
My name is Abbie Simon, and I'm a DFW based designer + recent graduate from the University of Arkansas School of Art. I've always been an artist as well as a critical thinker, so choosing to study graphic design in college was a no-brainer for me. I later developed an interest in human behavior and research methodology which led me to pursue a minor in psychology in addition to my studies in the arts. My unique educational journey is what sparked my passion for UX design, where I found a career in which creativity and data meet in the middle.
I'm currently a Product Designer at a startup working in the travel space.
in the last 4 years, i have...
I worked for two years as a Visual and Graphic Designer at Art Feeds, creating social media graphics and styling photo shoots for fundraisers, curriculum content and of merchandise. I completed a summer internship at MoneyGram, where I transformed the existing US domain from a global remittance and bill pay service to a financial services destination. While finishing up my degree, I did some UX + UI work for an ai content generation startup called Forya.AI. I’ve worked as a freelance creative for 3+ years, taking on clients from different industries, each offering unique projects and growth as a design professional. Currently, I’m illustrating 3 children’s books and just finished working on a brand guide for a newly emerging creative agency.
additionally,
When I'm not on my computer, you can find me hiking, drawing, painting, training for a half marathon, eating at Velvet Taco, or lounging with my rescue dog, Goose, watching movies (Top Gun is a fan favorite in our house). I'm excited about the future and the opportunity to continue growing as a designer. If you want to learn more about my work and experiences, check out my resume or get in touch!
